From the year 2007, I enact extended stillnesses in urban and bush places, recording them for later presentation as time-lapse videos.
From 2010, I slowly traverse the area delineated by the frame of a camera fixed on a tripod or other stationary object. I move slowly in and out of extended stillness, sometimes using parts of my surrounding environment to support my weight.
Whilst artist in residence at Amherst College (Copeland colloquium) September–November 2012, and at Earthdance, Plainfield, February 2013, I create a series of these works in locations on campus. Sped up at a magnitude of 125:1, each second of video represents more than two minutes of real-time.
